With great success comes an even greater responsibility to give back. That’s why Storable came together to support more than a dozen non-profits with donations totalling more than $45,000 in the year 2021.

To reach that figure, Storable matched employee donations that were made over the course of several fundraising opportunities throughout the year. Some of the nonprofits were chosen in response to crises such as donations to the Central TX Food Bank during last year’s winter storm in Texas. Other examples include the United Way India Covid Relief, Women for Women International Afghanistan Relief and the Second Harvest Food Bank of Louisiana.

“Other non-profits were chosen to support marginalized communities or celebrate cultural observances,” said Nicole Tenneyuque, community program manager at Storable. Examples include the Black Heart Association, GLAAD & The Okra Project and Latinas Contra Cancer.

Tenneyuque said one campaign that particularly resonated with Storriors was a holiday fundraiser called “Making Spirits Bright” arranged by Daymaker. The campaign provided profiles for each child connected to local nonprofits in underserved communities across the states with wishlists for the holidays so you could provide unique gifts based on their specific interests. Participants were able to include a message to the recipient along with the gift.

“These notes were incredibly moving and made me feel more connected to the kids we were supporting and also our fellow Storriors,” Tenneyuque said.

Overall, the company and its employees contributed $45,596 to 15 organizations supporting a wide range of causes including hunger relief, animal welfare and medical research. Results are as follows:

Up to $500:

  • Latinas Contra Cancer
  • Wonderful Post Christmas Cards
  • Feeding America
  • Black Heart Association

$501-$1,999:

  • Women for Women International
  • Movember Foundation
  • Amplify Austin Day
  • United Way India Relief Fund

$2,000-$5,000:

  • Austin Humane Society, SPCA of Wake County, KC Pet Project
  • Boys & Girls Club
  • Second Harvest Food Bank of Louisiana
  • GLAAD & The Okra Project Fundraiser
  • Daymaker

$10,000+:

  • Make A Wish Foundation
  • Central Texas Food Bank

Tenneyque said the company has just begun keeping track of its employees’ charitable activities, but so far she’s pleased.

“I’m overall super happy with the results in 2021,” Tenneyque said.

“We have a lofty goal of 75K for 2022 but the cool thing is we are going to also include volunteer hours towards this goal for Storriors who would prefer to give their time versus monetary donations.”
