Extra Space Storage is coming to Lafayette, LA with a climate-controlled self-storage facility coming to a former Sears space that’s attached to The Acadiana Mall. A car wash will also be added. Star Lafayette LLC, a Florida-based development company, bought the former Sears building for $1.5 million. The Sears space has been vacant since 2017. U-Haul completed the development of 600 indoor climate-controlled self-storage units at its facility at 476 Amherst St. in Nashua, NH. U-Haul purchased the property in 2018. Overall, the 7.2-acre site includes a two-story, 76,000-square-foot building with a showroom, a warehouse for U-Box portable storage containers, a drive-in bay for hitch installation and more.
