A Kmart store closed since early 2019 will become a self-storage facility in Allentown, PA. Devon Self Storage plans to use the existing 86,395-square-foot Kmart building at 1502 S. Fourth St. and also plans to build an estimated 37,000 square feet for a self-storage site. The company hopes to use a total of about 123,400 square feet on more than 13 acres. Devon wants to convert the Kmart building into a drive-through, interior self-storage facility. The building would include 590 storage units. Another 220 exterior units are planned for the southern end of the parking lot.
