Americas Capital Partners, based in Coral Gables, FL, has filed a pre-application with Miami-Dade County officials that calls for a seven-story, 112,600-square-foot self-storage building, plus 13 parking spaces, on an 0.49-acre site at 2655 NE 186th Terrace in the Ojus area near Aventura.
Developers file pre-application to get feedback from county officials before submitting official applications. 2655 Developers LLC, an affiliate of Miami, FL-based Premium Developer Group, which started selling for an office condo project in 2017; no construction has happened. Officials in Des Moines, IA approved a $15.5 million project to build two storage facilities (above), four stories each at 503 SE 12 St., on the edge of the Market District. The city said it estimates that will result in an additional $14 million in taxes in the next 30 years. The Planning and Zoning Commission approved a change that allows special-use permits for storage facilities in C-3 zones in Kirksville, MO. The City Council still must vote on it. The first A Little More Space Self-Storage facility will be developed from a former warehouse in the old Stevenson Lumber property on Monroe Turnpike in Monroe, CT. Planning and Zoning commissioners unanimously approved a special exception permit for the project. The facility will have 161 units on two levels of a climate-controlled building, as well as five detached non-climate-controlled units and five detached non-climate-controlled buildings with 90 units.
