Highland Development Ventures LLC and The Davis Companies are building a 17-story self-storage facility at 155 West 29th Street in the Chelsea district of Manhattan. The 180,000-square-foot project will offer 6,300 units. Construction of the $84 million facility has reached the halfway mark. The developers purchased the property in 2021 for $62.5 million. Mancini Duffy designed the building, and Cauldwell Wingate is the general contractor. Completion is expected in spring 2023.

Strathmore Real Estate Group, based in East Lansing, MI, has proposed to redevelop a former Kmart Property on US-31 in Acme Township, MI into self-storage. Acme Township rejected a previous proposal from another developer to turn the same property into self-storage, however the new proposal includes a mix of different potential uses on the property such as a fitness center, pickle ball courts, office space, coffee shop and apartments.
