When Storable acquired Easy Storage Solutions in 2020, it didn’t just gain a suite of innovative products. It gained a team of top-tier talent, including developer Brian Wilson.

Brian started coding in college in 1997, graduating from Utah Tech University with a BS in Computer Information Technology.

I was fascinated with computers and this fancy new ‘world wide web’ thing and have always wanted to tinker and see how it can solve problems and facilitate learning and communication,” Brian said.

“Most innovation isn’t brand new ideas, it’s an improvement on existing solutions. We must rapidly deliver results to solve the core issue and iterate,” Brian said.

Brian would go on to turn his passion for coding into a career, co-founding a web and mobile development shop named Custom Bit. The firm was contracted by the founders of ESS to launch its facility management software product in 2009. Custom Bit would continue as contractors for ESS until 2017 when they merged together.

As an engineer for Storable, Brian’s talents have been instrumental to the success of many products and key features including proposal to sign up flow, transfer of ownership tooling, tenant protection plans and payments.

Recently, Brian was promoted to Director of Engineering for the storEDGE product. In this new role, he rallies the development teams to continually improve the product and innovate new features.

His approach to innovation? Having a solid understanding of your target market and delivering a working or improved solution.

“Most innovation isn’t brand new ideas, it’s an improvement on existing solutions. We must rapidly deliver results to solve the core issue and iterate,” he said.
